Crazy day

Last night we had a great "first" community group with our new and old friends. I never really think about how every breath we take is from God, and that He breathed His very breath into Adam to create him. What a thought. We talked about how so often we distance ourselves from God...but, in reality He made Adam from dust but breathed life into him through His own breath. It's a beautiful picture. More than this it is a reminder that breathing is a gift from God. I am grateful for our time to think and discuss this concept. I am more grateful for the Spirit of God that resides in me because of Jesus. I am blessed more than I ever deserve.

As for today, I did not start the day praying for strength...which is why I am convinced that it was crazy. Eli and I went to the library and had to leave story time before it even started (which brings me to the new rule...if you take your child out of story time because they are being "disruptive" they can not come back in the room.....didn't realize until I left the room of this...so, we were unable to return to story time...or felt like we should not disobey the new system)....how can you go to story time and leave before it starts? I have an answer....you have a child who sees books that aren't being read...and rules on a CD which he can't understand. So, he was not a patient little one...and all of his molars are coming in on one side...so, it was just a tough morning all around....until we went to eat with our friends...Jenni and Jed...at McDonald's....what would you know....he was a perfect angel there...amazing...sat and ate his nuggets and apples for over thirty minutes...then played on the playground with Jed (3 years old) showing him the ropes...he went down the "big boy"(the smallest one) slide twice and the baby slide a few times...but was happy watching and interacting with the other kids....I realized though that children leave nuggets in the playground....and Eli loves food...so, it's not a good combination....glad I realize this now! He is in bed now and it feels like midnight already. I am hoping he sleeps for a few hours..we'll see.

Chris made it to real estate school with only a few minutes to spare...I don't think he was wired to sit in traffic that much (I am way worse when it comes to traffic though)....overall, he has been a real trooper with all that we have had going on this week....and he is balancing everything really well.

Need to read some and do laundry...more updates later.

Carrie,
This day's events are so funny and bring back vivid memories of the time 23 years ago in the grocery store with a brand new baby and a two year old, (you), pitching a fit because Mom wouldn't let you have candy at the check-out counter and a cart full of groceries in tow. Oh, how embarassed I was when a completely strange man had to help me get the groceries and you girls to the car. This little episode with Eli is just payback. HA!
Love,
Mom

Carrie, Chris, and Eli (little Man),
Every time is see a photo of Eli he makes me smile and when I hear of his daily experiences I laugh.
He is truly a gift from God.
The blog is a great idea. I can't wait to read what he is doing new each day (when Eli gives you time to blog).
You two are great parents.
